It is no accident that Christ comes into the world when the days are shortest, the nights are longest, and it seems as if the darkness will overtake us.  Yet God has promised that into the darkness, a light will shine.  And so we wait, hearts and hope joined together, looking for a sliver of light to break through, to shine upon our world so that we can see it, and each other, as we really are.
